Long Bio

Linda Cull is the author and publisher of the inspirational memoir Where The Light Lives: A True Story about Death, Grief and Transformation. She is a visionary artist and the founder of Wilara Press, a provider of author services, and the blog Spirit my way, covering spirituality, inspired creativity and transformative experiences at lindacull.com.

Linda was born in Perth, Western Australia, to Croatian immigrant parents; the younger of two daughters. She had a 1970s/1980s Australian suburban upbringing, however, was impacted by the war trauma that pervaded her family life. Her father was a child during the Second World War and witnessed atrocities. Her father’s ill health and her parent’s cultural struggles shaped her early life.

At age fourteen, Linda was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis which caused her pain and contributed to her culture of grief, resulting in anxiety and despair. Her recovery from depression and intergenerational grief began spectacularly at the age of sixteen when a series of transcendent experiences set her free.

Throughout her twenties and thirties, Linda experienced the spiritual reality many times. She encountered God, angels, spirit beings, the dearly departed and religious figures, and experienced many remarkable states of consciousness, naturally, and spontaneously, that culminated in a profound healing and transformation of her life. Acts of ‘spontaneous inspired creativity’, enhanced intuition, past life visions and premonitions dramatically altered her worldview.

Following her ‘Light’ experiences and a life review and preview on the spiritual plane, Linda gained an ability for creating inspired paintings.  The ability is known as ‘spontaneous inspired creativity’ and it is a highly intuitive way of creating art. By using oils, and later, acrylics on canvas, she produced many highly colourful, patterned and symbolised works in a rather automated way, which represent the scenes, beings, and energies of the subtle world.

Linda created inspired art for more than a decade and exhibited her paintings in Perth, Fremantle and Margaret River, Western Australia. However, in 2010 her creative focus shifted to writing her memoir, following a meeting that took place at her home with an Anglican priest, Father Barry May of Embleton, a former police chaplain and radio personality. Upon hearing of her spiritual experiences, Father May encouraged Linda to write her book which she commenced following the birth of her second son.

Linda’s account has gained the support of prominent experts in the field of Near-Death Experiences and Spiritually Transformative Experiences because of the multiplicity and depth of her spiritual experiences, and its description of the longer term effects of these happenings on her daily life. Also, her experiences, though very near-death-like, didn’t arise from physical illness or injury or death but from having a wish to die as a teenager.

Linda was educated at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, the Australian National University and Murdoch University. She received a scholarship to study politics in the United States and was an intern for the Human Rights sub-Committee in the Australian Federal Parliament. She has worked for State and Federal Members of Parliament. She now happily resides with her husband, children, and dog in Perth, Western Australia and works as a writer.

Long Synopsis

Where The Light Lives is the inspirational memoir of Linda Cull, a young woman from a traditional Southern European culture which was traumatised and fragmented by the Second World War and civil conflicts, and the story of her spiritual awakening journey.

Linda was born and raised in Australia, far from her ancestral lands and their brutality, but the effects of war and cultural displacement impacted her formative years through the struggles of her immigrant parents.

As a teenager Linda was diagnosed with a spinal condition which caused her pain, disfigurement, and humiliation, escalating her feelings of anxiety and despair.

Turning to God for comfort and meaning, at the age of sixteen, Linda heard God’s voice calling her name and she had her first of many transcendent experiences.

Throughout her twenties and thirties, Linda experienced out-of-body travels to heaven and back, encounters with God, angels, spirit beings and the dearly departed, culminating in a profound healing of her life from personal and intergenerational grief.

Acts of spontaneous inspired creativity, enhanced intuition, synchronicities, premonitions and past life visions have further expanded Linda’s understanding of reality and the interconnectedness of all life.

This intimate account provides remarkable insight into spiritually transformative experiences and their after-effects, the nature of God, heaven and the soul.

It is a book for anyone who has ever contemplated the meaning of life, had a spiritual experience, hoped for true healing or wondered about the spiritual survival of a departed loved one. In sharing her story, Linda hopes you will remember and reclaim your Divine connection.
